This is me

A student of Ngee Ann Polytechnic pursuing Tamil Studies with Early Education. With a passion for children and my mother tongue I decided to pursue this course.

I am always happy around people who are social, outgoing and practical. I believe that nothing is going to change if we show the expressions for the feeling we have in us.

Teaching Philosophy

"Intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death." - Albert Einstein

Agreeing with Albert Einstein, I believe that every child has a hidden unique talent, which many fail to discover themselves. As a teacher, I want to be able to help children find that talent using the teacher-student relationship that I create with each child.

I want to be able to...

Become a good role model for the children where they learn good values.
Create a good bond with each child and their family to understand the needs, likes, dislikes, and mental state, and be the approachable teacher they want me to be.
Create a safe space for children that will allow them to be themselves.
Have fun and interactive lessons and activities, which will allow the children to have curiosity in learning.

Helping the future generations learn is equally as important as teachers learning so that we will be able to give them our best. Therefore, it is essential to assess my teaching by ensuring that I meet the objectives for every learning before presenting any lessons or activities to the class.

Drawing

I started drawing during my free time and I realised that I will be able to use drawing in my career for creating storybooks or other activities for children. After which I started to explore the various applications in my iPad and digitalised my drawing and gave them filters and colours as seen in the below drawings.

Tamil Poetry

I write Tamil poetry to express my feelings and emotions. I found that expressing myself through words was a positive way which has allowed me to explore different aspects of poetry. I don't write just to express myself now but also to find inspiration about things in the world.

தோல்வியில்லா வெற்றியுண்டோ, வலியில்லா காயமுண்டோ, துரோகம் செய்யா மனிதர்கள் உண்டோ?

மனிதனின் மீது நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு, கண்மூடித்தனமான பாசம் வைத்து, ஒவ்வொரு வார்த்தையையும் உண்மையென நினைத்தேனே.

வாய்மை என நினைத்து, அனைத்தும் பொய்மை என உறுதி செய்தது எதற்கோ?

நொருங்கி போன கண்ணாடியில் என் முகம் எனக்கே தெரியாததுபோல், இன்று, உடைந்துபோன எனது இதயத்தையும் மனத்தையும் கண்டறிய முடியாத நிலையில் உள்ளேன்.

உனது வஞ்சத்தை தீர்ப்பதற்கு என்னை பகடைக்காயாக பயன்படுத்தி நம்பிக்கை எனும் அர்புதமான உறவை துண்டித்துவிட்டாயே துரோகி!

ஒவ்வொருவரின் வாழ்வில் வெற்றி என்நும் மகிழ்வான உணர்வை சுவாஸிக்க, சிலருக்கு அதுவே போதையாதிறது.

புத்திக்கு தெரிகிறது அது தவறென்று, ஆனால் இதயமோ அதை ஏற்க மறுக்கிறது.

ஒச் நாள், புத்தி இதயத்தின் மீது சினம் கொள்ள, நீயே வெற்றி கண்டால், வெற்றி காணாதவர்கள் எப்பொழுது வெற்றி காண்பது?

புத்தி கூறியது இதயத்திற்கு புரிய, மற்றோர்க்கு வெற்றி காண வாய்ப்பு கொடுக்க விட்டுக்கொடுப்பதில் கிடைக்கும் வெற்றியை உணர,

புத்தியும் இதயமும் மன நிறைவுடன் இருந்தன.

இந்த நாலு சுவர்களோ நரக வேதனையை தருகிறது

ஒவ்வொரு இரவும் என் தலையணையை என் கண்ணீரால் நனைக்கிறேன்

இந்த நரக வேதனையின் வலியை தாங்க முடியாமல்

என் எண்ணங்களும் செல்கிறது பின்நோக்கி
